Kinder Age Program
Ages 5 years - 6 years
A confident step toward Grade 1, right here on Cook Street
Fueling Brains Victoria’s Kinder Age Program is based on each child’s stage of development, not simply their age. Children continue with our 3-in-1 curriculum and engage in additional learning experiences, with 1000 hours of programming versus the 500 hours offered by other public school Kinder programs a smooth, brain-development-focused transition to Grade 1.
Why It Matters
What we teach in our Cook Street Kinder Age Program
Leadership
At Fueling Brains, we celebrate all that Kinder Age children have achieved already in their educational journey. We recognize them as leaders, and we view them as mighty learners with powerful perspectives and abilities to shape the world around them. Our goal is to create leadership experiences with younger students at our Cook Street campus.
Working with citizens to co-construct the future
The influence of Kinder Age children in the classroom environment cannot be understated. Children in our Kinder Age Program work closely with teachers to help determine their own learning projects, field trips, and special guest presentations.
Learning assessments for individualized learning
We evaluate students’ performance and development 5 times throughout the year. Your child’s progress will be shared with you semi-annually at our Parent-Teacher Interviews (PTIs), where you’ll collaboratively review your child’s report card and progress. Checklists are sent in between the official report card periods so you can engage in your child’s learning at home.
"Kinder Age children aren't just preparing for Grade 1 — they're already leaders in our classrooms today."
